Celebrate this Canada Day with @eatwholly and over $100 in Coupons

Wholly Guacamole Salsa-600

Last time I checked it was Victoria Day long weekend and now it’s Thursday. 12 sleeps away from Canada Day. Where does the time go?

Speaking of Canada Day, we’ll be going to our Friends place where we head every year. We spend the day swimming in the pool, playing games, getting caught up, feasting on a Potluck dinner while sitting around the fire, watching fireworks go off and being treated to live entertainment. Wouldn’t miss it for the world except when we almost did. This year, I’m bringing appetizers and I’m going to liven things up a notch.

We’re Going to Party with Wholly Guacamole and Salsa!

Since we spend four months a year in Southern Mexico, I feel like I know a thing or two about guacamole. And, I think Wholly Guacamole knows a thing or two as well. I loved that there were small chunks of avocado throughout. Who has time to puree it smooth. Besides, who would want to? Except for the lack of onion bites and avocado pits, it tasted fresh out of a Mexican kitchen. I was impressed and will continue to serve it to my friends and family.

As for the salsa, I’ve tried the Medium and have heard great things about the Hot. I bet it has bite. I might just have to switch up the packages on “Uncle Mike” and make him think he has the mild. If he gets upset, I’ll just remind him that if I was really trying to trick him, I wouldn’t have written about it right here. What can he do, admit that he doesn’t read my blog? Gotcha Uncle Mike!

We plan on spending the day together as a family. Parks Canada has special events going on at Fort George in Niagara on the Lake for free. We went last year and it was a lot of fun so we might go back. We’re hoping to see the fireworks at Niagara Falls this year.

The kids and I hope to spend the day with friends at a beach – or most probably in someone’s backyard as we’ll probably be rained out.

July 1 is my husband’s birthday. We will have a family barbeque with our adult children, their spouses, grandchildren and maybe some greatgrandchildren as well. We will have a chance to catch up on family news and for the grandchildren to interact together. It will be a busy and pleasant day.

Not sure what we’re doing for Canada Day. Our city always has games/food/face painting/kids activities at the Legislative building, and then fireworks after so we might go check that out.

Oops, forgot to post my plans for the Canada Day weekend!! I’m going to enjoy our new heated pool…the deck will be in the following week. Also, weather permitting, my husband and I will be out enjoying our motorcycles.

We have a whole Canada day tradition. We have break and get dressed in our reddest outfits and head to the parade. We meet up with Nana and Grampa and set up our chairs. Since we live in a small community we usually end up meeting lots of friends and family. After the parade we head back to Nana and Grampa’s for lunch, back home for a nap and then a BBQ. When it is dark we end our day by driving to our secret fireworks viewing spot. It is always a good day.

We are going to the local park for the city celebration! It is always great for the kids and since we are in a small town, there isn’t a ton of people!

We are just taking in the local celebrations. Cake, games, face painting, singing etc in the park and then possibly going to the fireworks at the beach

We’ll go to the Canada Day parade down the street, then the celebrations at our local beach. We won’t go to the fireworks, though, since it’s well past our toddler’s bedtime. (It isn’t dark enough for fireworks here until ten minutes to midnight!)
