Do You Support Companies That Give Back To Animals in Need? @Petcurean

Phoenix Dog Rescue

People often ask me, why with all the poverty that we see in Mexico, do we spend our time and money on the animals of the streets? The answer is quite simple, while we do support many people, there are formal organizations and support structures to provide for these people. As for the animals, no one is watching out for them.

Well, almost no one.

As you may recall, in 2006, we helped create a local humane society* here in San Cristobal de las Casas called Tzi’te Animal Proteccion. The goal of the grassroots group is to educate, sterilize, rescue and unfortunately (sometimes), humanely euthanize animals. The government and companies are not interested in ensuring that the furry, non-tax paying members of the city receive the basic necessities of life. In turn, 100% of the proceeds needed are donated by people like you and I.

That’s where Canada is different.

In Canada, there are tons of Animal Organizations, at all levels of government that are looking out for the best interests of those that can not look after themselves. In fact, just this week, an animal food bank called Lucky Princess Animal Food Bank was started in my community to provide food to the Owners for their pets. They saw a need and created a solution. They’re not the only ones.

There are also Companies that are putting their money (and profits) where their mouth is. As you know, I’m a huge fan of supporting Canadian and Charities and when the two come together, I want to be a part of it. I am honoured to have the fortune of working with several of these conscientious companies, one of which is Petcurean.

Petcurean is Giving Back to Those in Need.

As a Petcurean Ambassador, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to donate $500 to Hopeful Hearts Rescue Inc, a local animal shelter. Being such a small company, I knew that this contribution would make such a difference in their lives and those of the animals that they care for. I felt like a kid in a candy shop and I wasn’t even the one that donated the money. Well, not exactly.

By choosing to spend our money at companies like Petcurean, we are giving back to those that are so vulnerable. Those that in return for their loyalty, protection, companionship and love ask only to be fed properly, sheltered and loved.

It seems like a small price to pay for all that we get in return.

Phoenix and Reina are fortunate to be fed Petcureans fresh and nutrient rich ingredients. Not only are they huge fans but they exceeded Phoenix’s special dietary needs. More on that in our next post.

I usually support charities like Heart & Stroke and Diabetes, but sadly didn’t think about what I can do to support animal charities. It’s going on my list now! Wasn’t familiar with Petcurean either, but thank you for the freebie posting. I’m going to check it out. My furbabies are kind of fussy eaters. if you can believe that, but it’s worth a shot if it is better for them. 🙂

What a great idea – a food bank for animals! I definitely support that rather than people having to give up their pets if they are struggling financially.

Bravo to all involved! I’m going to look into this further. We support a few local charities with donations of products that I win! Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

      Dear Treen,

They do need help and I commend you for doing what you can. The great thing is that help doesn’t necessarily have to take on the form of cash. They accept donations of food and supplies, volunteered time, help with fundraisers. The possibilities are endless. Especially with the power of social media.

      Besos Sarah.

      Dear Dana,

When I know that companies donate a portion of their profits to charity (animals or otherwise), I make a point of spending my money with them. And, I’m quick to tell my friends about it. Thanks for your support.

      Besos Sarah.

I’m finding it interesting about Petcureans healthy choice of food for dogs and have just entered my info for a sample. I hope I can find it locally. Yes, I do try as much as possible to support companies that give back.

I love companies that help (out of their own pocket). I am hesitant about companies that request your donation at the till, because they get the big tax receipt at the end of it all, for charitable donations.

Yes, I do support Companies That Give Back To Animals in Need. Me department at work recently had a cupcake sale we sold to other department and were able to raise $510.00 for the SPCA. I also purchase their lottery ticket. It’s for a good cause.

As well as monetary support, I like to collect blankets and towels for our local shelter. They are always in need of these for the comfort of those waiting for forever homes.

I hope your dog is feeling better and I think it’s great that companies are willing to give back and especially to animals in need. I donate to animal charities myself as I’m an avid animal lover
