Teach Your Kids Balancing Skills with the Scoot and Ride 2-in-1 Scooter

Scoot and Ride 2in1 Scooter5Summer is here! I’m not sure what that means for you but for us, since we live on a 15-acre property that means a lot of mowing, gardening and playing outside for The Kids. They love to play soccer, swing on their swing set and play in the sand box. However, one activity that they would do all day, every day if they could is ride on their bikes.

One problem with this activity is that we live on a gravel road so it’s really hard for beginners to navigate the rocks and uneven surface. Also, it’s hard to for me to safely care for two kids on two bikes on the road. In turn, they don’t get out as often as we’d all like.

Designed with Your Child in Mind

This product is a 2-in-1 scooter and push-bike combination specially developed for kids aged between 3 and 5 years. Manufactured out of aluminum and steel components, the Highwayfreak exceeded my expectation of a durable toy for kids, or anyone for that matter. With a one-step installation, The Kids had the handlebars installed in two minutes and even figured out that there was a kick stand.

With the slide of a button, that even a child can do, the scooter swings up into a chair position for a pushing/sitting activity. I appreciate that a lot of thought has gone into the safety of the product and it meets multiple safety standards (in several countries) and comes with a warranty*, not that you’ll need it.

Putting the Scoot and Ride Highwayfreak 3.0 to the Test

When I heard about the Scoot and Ride Highwayfreak 3.0, I wanted to put it to the rural Ontario road test. With a maximum body weight of 50KG (110lbs), Uncle Kevin gave it the ultimate test and it easily supported his 6’2″ frame. I also took it for a spin and felt like a kid again with both legs swung out to the side. If the birds could talk.

After a few falls here and there**, The Kids got the hang of how to adjust their weight and balance on one foot for a brief period. Not an easy feat in itself for a five year old and the speed with which they learned this skill was incredibly quick. I’m confident that the scooter will help them with their bike balancing skills.

The best part is that they can use it on our inner driveway negating the need to go out in the road and meaning that they can play on it all day every day. And for years to come because even though it’s recommended for up to age 5, the adjustable handlebar and durability means that this product will grow with The Kids for years to come. It can grow with your child too because Scoot and Ride is giving one away to one of my readers!

      Dear Andrea,

Eck, that’s a bit of a drive! You can purchase the product from their website and they will deliver to Canada (http://www.scootandride.com/index.php/webshop). Instead of it costing $159 it would cost $189.

It’s worth it especially if you have a few kids that can use it (or you can resell it) because quality wise, it will last and last and last…

what i like is that the pedal-less bikes are all the rage, but this device has the extra scooter function which is great just in case your child isn’t into the bike

      Dear Michelle,

The Kids preferred the scooter function but probably because they’d never even seen a bike like that before.
