WIN $1,000 in Groceries at the #FoodBasics #IWantItAll Event! #contest

Stock-Food Basics2

Since we travel almost six months of the year, living with less and spending less is key to the success of our lifestyle and having it all. I’ve written some posts about how we save on our food bill and no matter what methods I use; apps, coupons, shopping the sales or nothing at all, time and time again, Food Basics comes out as the best value for my money. I love that I can support Canadian, spend less money and not have to compromise on variety or quality. Win, win, win, win! What’s the fourth win for you ask?

Right now, Food Basics is hosting their #IWantItAll Event Contest!

From now until June 29, Ontario residents can submit a 15-30 second video like I did below and answer the question “if you won free groceries for an entire year, what would you do with the savings”? In exchange for submitting your video, you will be entered to win one of six prizes of $1,000 in Food Basics Gift Cards! In addition, starting June 2, you can receive in-store pin codes and enter online for additional chances to win.

Having it all has changed for me since becoming a parent. Before having The Kids, we lived in a house in the middle of the city, didn’t have to share my favourite food (find out which one below) and ate out dinner five times a week. In case you don’t know, I’m not much of a cook unless you count my prize winning balsamic vinaigrette recipe. Now, we live on 15 acres of land, on a gravel road, where we listen to the birds sing all day and the kids and animals can run free.

Scroll to the bottom to watch my contest video submission and see what I’d buy if I had some extra money. Here’s a little hint; The Kids eat it with a spoon and I have a video to prove it!

How to Enter the Food Basics #IWantItAll Contest

1. Film a 15-30 second video stating what you would do with your savings if you won,
2. Submit the video online using the hashtags #foodbasics and #iwantitall,
3. Share the contest with friends.

This contest is open to Ontario Residents that have reached the age of 18. Ends June 29, 2016. View this page for all the Contest details.

Here is my entry for the contest. Did you guess what we would buy with our savings? P.S. In case you couldn’t hear, I said “bathtub full!”. Good Luck!

What would you buy if you Won?

Note that based on the videos already submitted, it appears that some stores may have an area and camera set up where you can tape your video.

Disclosure: Journeys of The Zoo was compensated in exchange for sharing our video with you.

I’d like to say I’d spend the money on something fun and fabulous, but really, I’d probably just put it towards our regular groceries or other expenses. Bah!

Hi, My husband and I have enough food to put on our table and we don’t eat fancy (Steak, Shrimp, etc.) but we do
give to the food pantry at our church. By the end of the month it’s usually pretty empty so I would buy in bulk and give to the pantry so that others can eat as well as we do.
