You know when you look at something and it doesn’t look quite right but you can’t put your finger on the problem. Well, that’s been happening to me a lot lately and I finally figured it out…
On a sidenote, you know when you hurt your baby finger and then spend the next week wondering why you never noticed how important your baby finger was before? Well, that’s how I feel about this clock because until today, I never realized that I looked at it all.the.time.
ADDED AFTER POSTING. The spider is actually inside the oven clock behind a glass panel so, I can’t actually kill it or make it move. If it doesn’t relocate soon, Ed might find himself disassembling the oven panel. Except, we all know how I can’t live without my oven.
UPDATE. On Saturday, the spider up and moved to other lodgings. Just hope it isn’t my sock drawer…

Shudder. I try to act all cool and a-okay around spiders with my girls because I don’t want to pass on my HORROR of them to them! Bugs are fine. Worms, snakes. Love! Spiders are the scourge of my world.
Dear Brenda,
As long as it’s not a shark, I will survive. Snakes do make me jump pretty high though.

So, is it safe to assume you threw the clock out and burned your bedroom down? đ
I have scientific research type Things and anytime we find a spider I have to trap it and set it free outside, but sometimes if it’s different or one they don’t recognize they insist on keeping it for a bit to observe it.
*blink blink*
They have no idea how much I love them, Sarah. No idea.

Dear Peady,
Considering it’s the oven clock and we know how much I use that appliance (http://www.journeysofthezoo.com/2014/03/cooking-in-my-mexican-oven.html), I did consider putting it on the side of the road. But more out of annoyance (for not being able to tell the time) than dislike for spiders.
I too have scientific kids but I’ve managed to add ladybugs (we have thousands), flies (same as the ladybugs) and mosquitos (I think they ALL live at our house) to the KILL list.

Oh. My. Id get rid of the oven… if I ever see a spider in my home, I am screaming like a banshee and spraying bugspray like a nut.
I feel for you and the fact that the spider is behind the glass wouldn’t help to calm me down – after all it got in there somehow, so the entry must also be an exit – horrifying! I thank the heavens that vacuum cleaners were invented – purely for me and spiders I reckon. I loved the “I canât live without my oven.” ha ha. Mind you, whilst in Australia I saw one up on the wall outside my daughter’s apartment, I am not kidding when I say it was the size of the palm of my hand – and that was only a baby I was told. You should have seen me, beady eyes on the ‘Thing’ whilst slinking around the door – had it moved I’d have been screaming blue murder!
so have you got rid of the spider or is it still stuck behind the glass. Did the heat from baking make it run for cover?
Dear Elizabeth,
The spider left of his own accord, alive. I think he got cold due to my lack of cooking.
