Over the years, we’ve created some “House Rules”. Perhaps you have some yourself. Ours are, but not limited to; pick up the bathmat, only buy Hellmanns Mayonnaise and Coffee is ground fresh every day. Pretty simple right? Wrong.
We live in a small town and what some may call “luxury goods” aren’t available here. However, enjoying quality coffee and tea in our home isn’t a luxury to us, it’s a staple. So our options are drive an hour each way into the big city or order online.
When I heard about online Canadian company, Buy Coffee Canada I knew that I wanted to share them with you.
Value for Your Money
The first delight that we tried was a 16oz Medium Roast Whole Bean Coffee from Kenya AA. With over 70 different bean choices in their inventory, Ed chose this one because he said that “Kenya has a good reputation for coffee”. He takes his coffee seriously and knows what he likes. He was pleased with the taste and aroma of this coffee and will be a repeat customer.
As for value for your money, the pound of beans will last one month, assuming one cup of coffee a day and a total expense of $14.96 that works out to about .50 cents a cup. It doesn’t matter where you shop, that’s a significant savings. Note that since writing this review, I’ve been using less grounds than normal because the coffee is so rich. What a difference to the Mexican coffee we were using.
Tea is the Spice of Life
When it came time to pick my teas, I might have gone a bit overboard but with good reason. First of all, there were so many different brands and flavours to choose from. Secondly, I wanted to try Novus’ loose leaf tea and finally, the prices were do great that I wanted to take advantage of the Free Shipping in Canada on orders over $49*. I received three months of quality tea for just over $25. That makes me want to get up in the morning!
Grown in the mountains of Sri Lanka, there’s a real difference in the taste of this loose leaf tea (in a bag) to other teas I’ve had. While I don’t like that they (and other teas) come in their own packaging, I appreciate the fact that the packaging and the bags are compostible and the aroma is so rich. If only I could share smells in a picture. I loved that all 3 teas steeped within two minutes and for this busy Stay at Home Mom, if it doesn’t steep fast then it doesn’t get drunk.
Sugar is Sweet but Syrup is The Best
When I originally researched this company, I saw that they distributed the coveted Torani Syrup. At the time, I thought that it was just for baking and/or coffee so I wasn’t interested much in either. But then I tried it. And the rest is history.
The French Vanilla elixir, as well as all the other flavours (including Sugar Free!), comes in a 25.4 fl. oz bottle and recommends a 1 oz dose per coffee. For the past week, I’ve been having my usual tea in the morning and a coffee in the afternoon with the Torani Syrup of course. Artemis likes her daily swig and even Uncle Eric is a fan. I like the fact that I can recognize all the ingredients**. For recipe inspiration visit torani.com.
If you want a specialty cup of coffee or tea, at a fraction of the price with free shipping* and from a Canadian company than look no further then Buy Coffee Canada. The best part is that Buy Coffee Canada wants to give you a taste on them!
