This was George Lazenby’s one and only James Bond movie. Ed and I can’t see why. I love his accent, cleft chin and “James Bond”ness. We thought that he had the potential to be (one of) the best, however, they didn’t really let him be James Bond (see the movie and you’ll understand or don’t see the movie and be disappointed). The script was absolutely horrible. The plot was lame and it took half of the movie to get to it. In turn, it made the movie long, too long. And the ending, well it just sucked. The storyline was the only thing that made the movie bearable and then they went and ended it like that. Tragic.
Ed rated it a “6” and I gave it a “5”.
Tomorrow night we’ll be watching the 7th movie, “Diamonds Are Forever” (1971) with Sean Connery (for the second time).
Hot Off The Presses. Uncle Andrew has the entire James Bond franchise on DVD and he’s loaning it to us! Nanna will bring them to us on October 10. Knowing this, we may delay watching further movies out of sequence (note that we have Diamonds are Forever).
