Yes, Max went as a Fireman (again) and Artemis was a Princess (for the third year in a row), however, it was planned. Well almost (isn’t that always the way it is with us).
You see Max also had a skeleton costume (because I always make sure to have a back-up of the back-up, see the impact that Halloween 2012 had on me!?) so he was going to go as a “Skeleton Fireman” but ditched the skeleton at the last minute. No harm done.
And Artemis’ Disney Princess dress was a size 6 and she’s a size 4 so to say that it was a bit big would be an understatement. I’m pretty sure that dresses like that are the reason that kids have baby teeth because she almost knocked hers out 53 times. I tried to McGyver her dress so that she wouldn’t trip by installing hair clips (you know the ones from 1980 that didn’t even work then) underneath her dress but after a while I was pretty sure that THEY were the reason that she was tripping so we just had her carry the entire front of her dress. And her basket. Basically we just carried her. The good news is that it will still fit her next year because I’m pretty sure that she’ll still want to be a princess.
Speaking of princesses, I asked her if she wanted to be one in real life but she assured me she didn’t. She told me that “Princesses are lazy. All they do is sit around and eat candies all day”. On second thought, I think that I want to be a Princess.
Did You Have a Halloween Costume Debacle of Your Own?
P.S. I would appreciate it if you didn’t tell The Kids that one candy a day isn’t a LOT. Add it to the list that includes “a dime for allowance is the same as a million dollars”. Thanks.
Haha… as always your writing never phases to make me laugh and turn any bad day into a good one. I am the same way with the candy, the kids are allowed one a day and that is why it lasts so long here and I don’t have to buy them treats for a LONG time.
P.S Can you tell Artemis if she doesn’t want to be a Princess, I’ll take the job it sounds right up my alley.

Dear Amanda,
I’m glad that our little mishaps make you laugh. To tell you the truth, they make us laugh too.
P.S. I’ll let Artemis know.

Your children are adorable no matter what they wear.

Dear AlwaysaRedhead,
Seeing as you’re their honourary Aunt I’d have to say that you’re a bit biased. But I have to admit that I think they’re adorable too and I’m not biased at all.
Besos Sarah.

You have beautiful children. They make a very adorable Princess and Fireman.
Did they have fun trick or treating? đ
I had an Angel and a Clumsy Ninja. They had a lot of fun and a LOT of treats.
I should also mention that their costumes were homemade/thrift shop creations!
I love it when they get creative.

Dear Peady,
We have two homemade costume creations in 2012 and I’m still having nightmares. To my credit, if they’d been planned I would have been okay with that.
You sharing pictures? I’m taking a poll. https://www.facebook.com/JourneysofTheZoo2/photos/a.332210370179477.76919.309758755757972/749284195138757/?type=1
We went to 5 houses and The Kids got enough candy to last them until next year (they’re words not mine and at the rate my husband and I are eating them, I’m hoping next week).
